Jean-Claude Croizet has been a professor of psychology at the University of Poitiers since 2005. Before he was associate professor at the Université Blaise Pascal at Clermont-Ferrand. He is interested in the psychological consequences of social inequality. He studies stigmatization and social reproduction, and his research focuses on the impact of social hierarchy on intellectual performance in evaluative settings (e.g., exams, standardized tests). He has been particularly interested in stereotype threat and social class, and he also studies implicit social cognition. Dr. Croizet is a Fulbright scholar and a past research fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.
